On Friday, May 12th at 3:00pm, the Southern Oregon Beekeepers Association invites you to the Southern Oregon Research & Extension Center Auditorium, 569 Hanley Rd. in Central Point, for “Bees & Cannabis: an Educational Symposium.” The Oregon Department of Agriculture’s Rose Kachadoorian, Pesticide Regulatory Leader, and Mike Odenthal, Lead Pesticide Investigator, will give presentations and host a Q&A. The symposium will focus on commonly used pesticides, their effects on bees, the pesticide bee-kill investigation process, and much more. We will also have a facilitated question and answer period, where participants identify local issues, brainstorm possible solutions, and develop action items to create positive relationships between cannabis growers, bees, and beekeepers. Target audience: cannabis growers & beekeepers Also welcome: farmers & land managers “Note - Licensed Pesticide Applicators, we have requested two Oregon Core Recertification Credits.”
