(BizJournals) Of the hundreds of doctors who have completed the process to provide medical marijuana orders for patients, 56 are from the Tampa Bay area.
These doctors have completed an eight-hour training course, passed an exam and paid a $1,000 fee for the appropriate medical marijuana certification.
Of those approved, most are in Tampa and St. Petersburg, with 22 approved doctors in Tampa and 11 in St. Pete. Clearwater has 10 approved physicians, Largo has four and Dunedin, Safety Harbor and Brandon each have two. Pinellas Park, Sun City Center and Oldsmar each have one medical marijuana certified doctor.
